how do I get the database name for a particular service name.

we are using LDAP. i usually use tnsping to get information about the net service names. but when using the service name to find the database name is there any command?

i already looked up google and my search did not find the info that i am looking for.

please advise.

thanks.

No way from outside the database, you have to connect to the service to know the database name.
