Hi Friends

I am using apex 3.2 on oracle 11g R2. Now I want to generate report in pdf format. so i tried report query & select output format pdf but it gives beloww error
ORA-20001: The printing engine could not be reached because either the URL specified is incorrect or a proxy URL needs to be specified.

Both the following Scripts run successfully without any error though above error comes.

1 Granting Connect Privileges to a Host
2 Granting Connect Privileges to a Local Host

Please Suggest me the way.

Chintan

Thanks

I had read from your link that i have to "Installing and Configuring Apache FOP" for generating pdf. they suggest to deploy fop.war using application server console. my problem is that, i have only database server, how can i deploy "fop.war" without application server. i would like to give some more information, i am using apex 3.2 on oracle 11g R2 by embedded pl/sql getway.

What I did was to use Apex + Apache Tomcat + iReport.

Follow (and research) these instructions:
Carl Backstrom's Blog: Apex + Cocoon = PDF
Video

Apex PDFs are ugly. Therefore, I integrated iReport & Apex in order to create beautiful reports.

Hi

I read about iReport,
"iReport is the free, open source report designer for JasperReports." Now I would like to get more information regarding licensing compliance of iReport & Jasper Report. If any organization want to use iReport then is it required to buy the license of iReport & jasper report?

Thanks
Chintan

At the bottom of the iReport homepage is a Community section, which contains GPL License link. Everything is described in there.
